After years of constant demand Agnes now produces the sauces to lend a new and exciting range for the open market. The sauces gained a momentum of their own and by expanding the range from the initial chilli and chicken marinades, 'Aggy's Sauces' now have four different flavours.
Agnes exudes passion for her recipes and range, which her family and friends love, and is proud of what she has accomplished. Her passion originates from her realisation of what these sauces can achieve! There is more to Agnes than meets the eye.
In November 2001, Agnes lost her beloved sister to AIDS. When she visited Zambia for her sister's funeral, there was not one family that she knew who had not lost a loved one to AIDS. Most of them left children and even with the extended family system this problem is not being met. There is much devastation and helplessness.
Agnes has a dream; a dream to help the orphans of Zambia and South Africa, whose lives have been shattered by AIDS. Realising the absolute need to provide help to the over 2.5million orphans in these countries where the epidemic is severe, Agnes intends setting up a foundation to provide housing and education for these children, as well as medicines to maintain their health.
A % of profits from the sale of Aggy's Sauces will go to the foundation to create a community of homes for the children, and by establishing farming projects, provide a livelihood for the local community and the folk who will be caring for these disaffected children. Agnes' mission statement is to give each child under the care of her foundation every opportunity to develop in a positive, loving environment within the cradle of a family, allowing them to grow into competent and accomplished adults. The foundation will provide every child with a stable home in a loving environment with parents, brothers and sisters, thus preventing the need for them to be moved back and forth between foster homes, or even in the worst case; left to fed for themselves, as is the case with the majority of AIDS orphans.
